Precious Gems & Jewelry specializes in fine jewelry estate appraisals, and brokerage that proudly serves the Southeastern Brunswick County community. Determining the value of jewelry and gemstones as a private consultation and/or formal insurance appraisal is our specialty. To settle an estate, we can provide liquidation or fair market value assessments as well. At Precious Gems, we use industry-standard methods and equipment to identify and grade gemstones and metals. Appraisal documents can be completed by appointment (while you wait), or mailed. We do written assessments as well as informal verbal appraisals. We also offer fine jewelry brokering/acquisition services for exceptional pieces. Refurbishment, restoration and repair are provided, in addition to purchasing your broken or unwanted gold and precious metals. Simply stated, we’ve been providing the best quality service in North Carolina and surrounding states since 1997. Owner and appraiser Deanne Karnes Hoffman has had more than 3 decades of experience in the jewelry industry. In the 80’s, a passion for the detailed work, history, and art  involved in handcrafted vintage jewelry, including specialty cuts of gemstones and diamonds began. As Precious Gems often works with clients from all over the world, our exceptionally curated collections are always changing. Specializing in period pieces from the mid 1800’s to the 1970’s, our private collection consists of over 6,000 pieces. We also offer cleaning as well as designing custom pieces for that one-of-a-kind gift that can't be found anywhere else. If you can dream it, we can create it for you.
